On 23 August 2025, the Purnomo Yusgiantoro Centre (PYC) International Energy Conference 2025 was officially opened. This international forum, held every two years, serves as a strategic platform for governments, academics, experts, the private sector, and students to discuss energy transition towards sustainable development. The objective of the event is to compile policy briefs for government agencies and ministries relevant to the energy sector, including the Ministry of Coordinating Infrastructure and Regional Development, the Ministry of Labour, PT Pertamina, and other institutions governing the energy sector.
One of the key points discussed was President Prabowo Subianto's target of 8% economic growth. The discussion encompassed the insights of multiple panellists and guests. The Ministry of Coordinating Infrastructure and Regional Development and the Ministry of Manpower also emphasised the importance of energy transformation in the infrastructure sector, as this supports sustainable development and creates job opportunities. As a research institution, PYC also conducted field surveys and listened to the aspirations of the community. Therefore, the policy recommendations also involved the government, the private sector, and the 8% economic growth target for 2025.
