PT. Jasa Angkasa Semesta Tbk, or JAS Airport Services, has officially received international certification for the handling of fresh, perishable cargo. This certification ensures the quality of handling of fresh products such as fish, including for export. The certification is based on the Centre of Excellence for Independent Validators in Perishable Logistics (CEIV Fresh) issued by the International Air Transport Association (IATA). This certification ensures that the handling of fresh, perishable goods meets global standards. "This certification confirms that PT Jasa is the first Indonesian company to successfully meet global standards for handling perishable goods," said JAS Airport Services Commissioner Andry Tanzil at the certification ceremony in Jakarta on Tuesday (August 19, 2025).
He emphasised that global-standard handling ensures the smooth operation of fresh cargo, from the airport, through storage, and through transportation. This provision also applies to fish, one of Indonesia's mainstay exports. Andry said that the CEIV Fresh certification from IATA proves the company's commitment to ensuring that fishery product export activities can be handled properly. On the same occasion, the Director of Logistics, as previously reported, PT Jasa Angkasa Semesta Tbk (JAS), a leading ground-handling company in Indonesia, launched its first hybrid Belt Conveyor Loader (BCL) in a special ceremony held at Terminal 3, Soekarno-Hatta International Airport. This initiative marks a new era in innovative and more sustainable ground handling services. This launch is a clear demonstration of JAS's commitment to environmental sustainability, technological innovation, and operational excellence. This is also a strategic step for the company in transitioning from Internal Combustion Engine (ICE)-based equipment to hybrid and fully electric technology, in line with global efforts to decarbonise the aviation industry.
