The Directorate General of Customs and Excise is strengthening its support for export-oriented MSMEs through comprehensive assistance programs, both online and offline. For example, the Cikarang Customs and Excise Office conducted in-person visits to Bekasi Regency to establish communication and provide education to business owners, including Baragakai, a woodcraft MSME that is now penetrating the Malaysian, Singaporean, Japanese, and Korean markets. Meanwhile, the Marunda Customs and Excise Office provided remote assistance to PT Genesis Duta Berkat Indonesia via Zoom, helping them understand export procedures and customs regulations to increase their product competitiveness in the global market.
Similar efforts are underway in Central Java and the Special Region of Yogyakarta, where more than 37 assisted MSMEs have received direct assistance from the Customs and Excise team. Twenty-five of these have successfully exported their products to countries such as Singapore, Japan, Korea, India, France, Saudi Arabia, Myanmar, China, and the United States. The total export value is expected to reach more than IDR 21.16 billion by mid-2025. This support includes understanding export procedures, customs regulations, and the use of facilities such as V-Legal certification, particularly for wood-based products, to ensure they meet international sustainability standards. This demonstrates that synergy between the government and businesses can make MSMEs the spearhead of national exports.
