In the first half of 2025, Dumai’s crude palm oil (CPO) and its derivatives exports surged to 3.8 million tons, marking a 127% year-on-year increase. This significant rise was accompanied by export revenues amounting to US$3.4 billion, with Pakistan, China, and Vietnam emerging as the primary importers. Consequently, the government’s revenue from export duties soared dramatically from IDR 661 billion to IDR 4.9 trillion.
This remarkable growth highlights Dumai’s strategic importance in Indonesia’s CPO trade, especially through the port managed by Pelindo Multi Terminal (SPMT) Branch Dumai. The sharp uptrend in both volume and value of exports underscores robust global demand and emphasises Dumai’s escalating contribution to national export earnings and fiscal gains.
