Bangka Belitung's (Babel) superior products, particularly from the marine and fisheries sector, such as fresh fish and frozen squid, and from the agricultural sector, peppercorns, have once again attracted international attention. These commodities are exported to four countries: Australia, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Taiwan. The export launch was marked by the sealing of containers and a ceremony conducted by the Governor of Bangka Belitung, Hidayat Arsani, along with the Head of the Indonesian Quarantine Agency, Sahat Manaor Panggabean. The event took place at the Pangkalbalam Port Industrial Estate, Pangkalpinang, on Friday (August 8th, 2025). The Governor stated that today's exports of marine and fishery products, totaling IDR 11.3 billion, demonstrate positive economic activity in Bangka Belitung, particularly in the foreign trade sector.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Indonesian Quarantine Agency, Sahat Manaor Panggabean, confirmed that the service system is digital. Export documents have been sent there. “They simply check the schedule for when the goods will arrive in their countries. These countries will also know the quality of the fish they consume, and that the fish they consume truly originates from Bangka Belitung. That's what our partners have requested," he explained. He also encouraged the Bangka Belitung Provincial Government to participate in this integrated system, so that they can connect directly with the Quarantine Office, Customs, and the KSOP (Central Indonesian Port Authority) to provide information on superior products from Negeri Serumpun Sebalai before they are shipped. This accelerated export to Australia, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Taiwan involved six export companies. The products shipped consisted of 89.5 tons of fresh fish and frozen squid worth IDR 3.2 billion, and 51 tons of peppercorns worth IDR 8.1 billion.
