On 8 August 2025, during a press conference held by the Ministry of Creative Economy (Ekraf) and UniPin at the Indonesia Game Week (IGW) 2025 event at Blok M Hub, Jakarta, Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene Umar stated that IGW is the centre of gaming events in Indonesia, as well as a forum for businesses to connect and engage with consumers. Irene emphasised the importance of the role of the local wisdom-based gaming industry in becoming a national strength on the world stage, as well as Indonesia's strength not only in the digital sector but also in local products and creations that represent the nation's strength, from culinary to traditional and modern games. The Ministry of Creative Economy collaborated with UniPin, Makaroni Ngehe, Esteh Indonesia, and Acaraki, a producer of traditional Indonesian herbal medicines, including herbal medicine infused with sparkling water and ice cream. Furthermore, Irene encouraged pride in and exploration of domestic creations, including digital games and board games by local creators.
UniPin CEO Ahsadi Ang believes that collaboration between different sectors, especially the culinary industry, is important for promoting young people's work. This collaboration can help the gaming industry reach more people, increase revenue and support Indonesian creators. Culinary businesses should view games as a way to reach the digital generation. At the same event, Deputy Chairperson of Commission VII of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Rahayu Saraswati, expressed her support, stating that local Intellectual Property (IP) must continue to be promoted globally through collective efforts. At the IGW 2025 event, UniPin launched the #BanggaMainLokal campaign, which represents a commitment to uniting the gaming, food and beverage, and lifestyle industries into a creative ecosystem. The event also saw the participation of local game developers, including Anantarupa Studios, Lentera Nusantara, Gaco Games, and Ikan Asin Productions.
