On 5 August 2025, Indonesia made its inaugural export of medical equipment, facilitated by PT Medela Potentia Tbk (MDLA) through its subsidiary PT Deca Metric Medica (DMM) to Cambodia and Timor-Leste. The medical equipment exported included the wound care products Stardec DecaFix and Stardec DecaMed-T. This export is part of the company's strategy to expand the domestic medical device market into international markets. As demand for medical equipment in Cambodia and Timor-Leste continues to grow, export opportunities in this sector remain promising. Director of Deca Metric Medica, Stephen Febianto Kusumo, stated that the company is confident in penetrating the market more quickly and effectively, and that this export marks the first step toward DMM products being accepted by the international market.
Stardec DecaFix and Stardec DecaMed-T are wound care products for healthcare facilities, including hospitals and clinics, and are also available to the general public through pharmacies. PT DMM has met international standards through ISO 13485:2016 certification, which is crucial for competing in the global market, particularly within the ASEAN region. Furthermore, Director of Medela Potentia Edbert Orotodan stated that the success of this export is the result of strong synergy among business units within PT Medela Potentia Tbk and its subsidiaries. This initiative forms part of our broader mission to enhance access to high-quality, domestically produced healthcare products. This inaugural export is indicative of the significant opportunities Indonesia holds in the global medical device sector. In 2024, the value of Indonesia's medical device exports was approximately USD 273 million. This is indicative of the significant market potential and growing global confidence in the quality of Indonesian manufactured products.
