East Kalimantan Province (Kaltim) is collaborating with North Kalimantan (Kaltara) to strengthen its export network for superior commodities to 33 countries through the Balikpapan Export Center, which was recently inaugurated by the Minister of Trade. This innovation not only provides strategic access for local MSMEs but also strengthens the green and blue economy along the border from crafts and seafood commodities like crabs to luxury niches like kratom, which can reach up to IDR 98 million per kilogram.
This synergy is strengthened through cross-provincial collaboration that emphasizes MSME empowerment, strengthening human resource capacity, and utilizing digital technology to expand global market access. The East Kalimantan Provincial Government hopes this collaboration will not only strengthen Kalimantan's image as a pillar of Eastern Indonesia's economic development but also create inclusive and sustainable economic growth that directly impacts local communities.
