On Sunday, August 10, 2025, PT Budi Starch & Sweetener Tbk (BSSW), a leading tapioca flour producer under the Sungai Budi Group, commenced its first export of the year by shipping 10,000 tons of tapioca to Taiwan. The shipment departed from Panjang Port in Bandar Lampung, with Sucofindo overseeing the process to ensure product quality. Utilizing containers was a strategic choice to minimize damage during sea transport.
This export initiative aligns with BSSW’s strategy to expand its market reach and contribute to Indonesia’s foreign exchange earnings. Taiwan was selected as a target market due to the growing demand for tapioca in its food, beverage, and animal feed industries. The company aims to strengthen its presence in the East Asian market and support the local cassava processing industry in Lampung. BSSW is optimistic about the increasing global demand for tapioca and plans to continue enhancing product quality and production capacity.
