Bengkayang Affirms: 12 Tons of Corn Exports to Malaysia Boost Local Economy

Bengkayang Regency, West Kalimantan, has once again exported 12 tons of corn to Malaysia through the Teguh Bengkayang Sejahtera Cooperative, demonstrating the region's capacity to support national food security while expanding export market access. According to the cooperative's advisor, Edison Akong, these shipments are being carried out continuously and in stages based on local demand and stock availability, underscoring Bengkayang's role as a major corn production center in the province.

This export effort is also supported by the Central Government, which prioritizes President Prabowo Subianto's food security program, strengthening the synergy between local agriculture and national strategic policies. In addition to improving farmer welfare through opening international markets, Bengkayang Batik is also supported by infrastructure such as the provision of a local corn processing factory and a harvest price of around IDR 5,500 per kilogram, further strengthening the potential of this commodity as a pillar of the regional economy.
