Mukhtarudin, a member of Commission XII of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), assessed that the government's success in exceeding the oil and gas lifting target provides momentum to strengthen investment in the upstream oil and gas sector. "This is a historic milestone. After 16 years of failing to meet targets, we must now capitalize on this momentum to strengthen upstream oil and gas investment and maintain national energy security," Mukhtarudin said in Jakarta on Monday. The member of Commission XII, which oversees the energy and mineral resources (ESDM) sector, commended the historic achievement of the national oil and gas sector, which for the first time in 16 years successfully exceeded the State Budget (APBN) target. As of July 30th, 2025, daily oil lifting reached 608,000 barrels per day (bpd), exceeding the APBN target of 605,000 bpd. He emphasized that this achievement is not just a figure, but a positive signal for investors that Indonesia has strong prospects in the energy sector.
