Governor of Lampung, Rahmat Mirzani Djausal, is pushing for Lampung to become Indonesia’s top corn producer by partnering with China’s Qingdao Dagu Grain Co., Ltd., a leading agricultural company. Currently ranked third nationally in corn production, Lampung aims to surpass other provinces through this strategic collaboration. The partnership was discussed during a visit by Qingdao Dagu’s delegation, with Governor Mirza expressing strong support and appreciation for the company’s commitment. He emphasized Lampung’s strategic location and robust economic growth as key advantages for investment.
Qingdao Dagu’s Chairman, Yang Wenzheng, revealed that their team has conducted on-site assessments in South Lampung, identifying significant potential for increasing corn yields. He stated that productivity per hectare could rise by up to 2 tons through the use of high-quality seeds, fertilizers, and advanced farming equipment. Yang also emphasized the need for full support from the Lampung government to achieve these targets and ensure the success of the partnership.
