Southeast Sulawesi recorded a 4.22% increase in export value in June 2025 compared to the previous month, reaching USD 270.43 million. The mining sector remains dominant, with significant contributions from ferronickel and metal ore commodities. Meanwhile, the non-oil and gas sector saw a 5.43% increase, indicating that export diversification is beginning to yield results.
This increase serves as an important indicator that Southeast Sulawesi is able to maintain its foreign trade performance amid global uncertainty. However, reliance on the mining sector remains a concern for the sustainability of long-term exports. Strategies for downstream processing and strengthening the agroindustry sector are needed to ensure that export growth is not only high but also inclusive and resilient to shocks.
