A total of 1,200 cartons of local brand cigarettes produced in Kudus, Central Java, will be shipped to the Philippines via sea route through Tahuna Port in the Sangihe Islands. This shipment marks the revival of sea export routes from border regions and signifies a strategic step toward diversifying Indonesia's trade routes. The shipping process is being directly supervised by company representatives and Customs officials to ensure the smooth execution of export procedures.
The maritime shipping approach via Tahuna provides new access for local products to penetrate regional markets while reducing reliance on Java's main ports. Although still in its early stages, this initiative highlights the economic potential of remote regions and underscores the importance of developing logistics infrastructure in border areas to support national SME exports.
