The infrastructure development plan to support the progress of the Bangka Belitung Islands (Babel), launched by Babel Governor Hidayat Arsani, through the development of the Tanjung Putat Beach area in Belinyu, Bangka Regency, into an export port, has entered a new phase. Executives from the Chinese company, PT CCCC First Harbor Engineering Company Ltd, visited the site planned for the construction of the international-standard port for the third time. Governor Hidayat stated that this demonstrates the investors' commitment to this Rp 5.1 trillion project.This is their third visit here, and they are the largest company in China. They have already prepared a master plan. This is a giant project, a mega project," he said at Tanjung Putat Beach on Wednesday (July 30th, 2025). After viewing the master plan for the international export port, which will be built on 400 hectares of land, Governor Hidayat confirmed that the next steps, namely the principle review and signing of the cooperation agreement, will take place in Beijing in the near future.
The Governor expressed high optimism following today's initial agreement. He hoped that with the export port, Belinyu would become a developed region, elevating its reputation and history as an industrial region, while simultaneously improving the status and economy of the community. Meanwhile, Tan Bin, General Manager of PT CCCC First Harbor Engineering Company Ltd, explained the reasons for their interest in investing. As one of the world's largest companies engaged in dock and port construction, they consider Bangka Island's geographic location at the heart of international trade routes. "We came to assess the port development requirements, and after reviewing them, we assessed Babel's strategic location. Construction will begin soon, and could be accelerated once all the analysis and data are complete. Through our collaboration with the Governor, we can invite other investors to develop the port into an industrial area," Tan Bin concluded.
