From 16-18 July 2025, the Mega Halal Bangkok 2025 exhibition took place at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre (BITEC) in Bangkok, Thailand. During the event, Indonesia successfully recorded significant transaction potential of USD 563,000, or approximately IDR 9.19 billion. Indonesian Trade Attaché in Bangkok, Rafika Arfani, stated that the Indonesian Pavilion had successfully attracted the attention of international buyers, particularly for premium lifestyle products such as contemporary Muslim fashion, batik, innovative cosmetics, specialty coffee, premium snacks, jewellery, handicrafts, and home decor. The diversity of these high-potential export products demonstrates that Indonesia is ready to lead the evolution of the halal industry, extending beyond food and beverages.
Rafika stated that Indonesia's participation in the Mega Halal Bangkok 2025 exhibition serves as a form of economic diplomacy, with the objective of showcasing the progress of the halal industry. The high level of interest from potential business partners and the positive response from visitors indicates the Indonesian halal industry's modern, creative and highly competitive nature. The Indonesian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Thailand, Rachmat Budiman, has stated that Indonesia's participation in this exhibition represents a significant step forward in promoting Indonesian halal products. This initiative aims to support micro, small, and medium enterprises (UMKM) in entering the global market and expanding their business networks. Businesses from Damakara in the fashion sector and PT Multi Indo Citra (Kaila) in the cosmetics sector, particularly lipstick and lip balm products, gained significant recognition from visitors. Furthermore, numerous countries expressed strong interest in collaborating, including Thailand, Malaysia, Taiwan, Saudi Arabia, India, China, Japan, and Kuwait. These achievements were supported by effective business matching activities and discussion forums.
