The Batam City Fisheries Service (Diskan) recorded fish exports worth IDR 129 billion in the first semester of 2025, in line with the annual target set. The exported fisheries products include frozen fillets, whole rounds, and fresh chilled fish, shipped to major destination countries such as the United States, Japan, and Singapore. This export performance demonstrates that Batam's marine sector remains a pillar of the local economy, supported by strategic export ports like Batu Ampar and Hang Nadim Airport.
This success serves as evidence that the competitiveness of Batam's marine commodities continues to rise in the global market. The Batam Fisheries Agency reaffirms its commitment to strengthening the supply chain and ensuring the quality of catches to continue penetrating export markets with greater value. Beyond achieving targets, this achievement also indicates that the fisheries sector has broader expansion potential, in line with the increasing demand from foreign markets for Indonesian seafood products.
