The Tanjungpinang City Government has once again welcomed new investment into the Bintan Free Trade and Free Port Area (KPBPB) within Tanjungpinang City. On Tuesday (July 29th), the Regional Secretary of Tanjungpinang City, Zulhidayat, laid the cornerstone for the construction of a warehouse owned by PT. Sukses Bintan Permata on Jalan Kelam Pagi, Dompak Village, Bukit Bestari District. Secretary Zulhidayat stated that the construction of this warehouse represents a concrete step by the Tanjungpinang Investment Agency (BP Tanjungpinang) in opening up investment opportunities. He hopes the project will be completed on time to contribute to regional economic development and create jobs for the community. "In the first semester, BP Kawasan has successfully attracted three investors. Hopefully, this number will increase by December. The investment trend in 2025 will also be better than last year," Zulhidayat added.
The city government, through the Department of Public Works and Investment (DPMPTSP), also continues to collaborate with the Tanjungpinang Investment Coordinating Board (BP Tanjungpinang) to encourage investment. Currently, most incoming investments are small-scale, such as MSMEs, but it is hoped that this will expand to medium- to large-scale ones. "We hope that more investors will come in the future," said Zulhidayat. This warehouse is designed as a logistics facility for consumer goods such as food and daily necessities, with an initial investment of around IDR 10 billion. The project is estimated to employ around 40 to 50 local workers, or even more, depending on the logistics activities undertaken. "The city government has assisted with obtaining and issuing the permits. We are pushing for completion of construction by the end of the year so that the workforce can be absorbed quickly," he said. He stated that the Dompak area still has potential land that can be utilized by potential investors.
