Successfully Entering the Hong Kong Market, the Minister of Trade Has Launched an Export of Spices and Honey from Bali's Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises

On 29 July 2035, the Minister of Trade, Budi Santoso, inaugurated the export of spice and honey products manufactured by Bali-based micro, small, and medium enterprises (UMKM), CV Naralia Group, to Hong Kong via Lini Cargo in Denpasar, Bali. The total export value of these goods amounted to USD 350,000, equivalent to approximately IDR 5.6 billion. The exported spice products include vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and honey products. Furthermore, the CV Naralia Group has successfully exported its products to 11 additional countries, including Australia, Fiji, New Zealand, Tahiti, Spain, Sweden, Hawaii, the United States, the Maldives, Singapore, and Malaysia. The recent export shipment to Hong Kong by CV Naralia Group signifies a notable milestone in the expansion of market access for Indonesian products, underscoring the readiness and capability of Indonesia's micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises to compete on the global stage. It is hoped that this accomplishment will inspire and motivate other businesses to become exporters and contribute to the economy.

From 2023 to 2028, the global demand trend and projections for spices are expected to grow at an average rate of 5-6%, driven by increasing global consumer awareness of healthy living and the use of natural products. This presents a valuable opportunity to increase productivity and spice exports to global markets. There is significant potential for the growth of Indonesian spices in the global market, with Indonesia currently the fourth largest exporter of spices in the world, after India, Vietnam, and China. Indonesia's leading spice exports include pepper, cloves, and nutmeg. In 2024, Indonesia's spice exports totalled USD 989.5 million, indicating a five-year growth trend of 1.94%.
