The capital city project IKN received an important visit from Sarawak Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Haji Awang Tengah Bin Ali Hasan, marking a new phase in strategic cross-border collaboration between Malaysia and Indonesia. He expressed strong interest in IKN’s development, calling it a potential game-changer in Southeast Asia and signaling Sarawak’s intention to be a strategic investment partner, not just a diplomatic ally. A Sarawak-based company is reportedly already participating in IKN’s development projects.
Responding to this, IKN Authority Deputy for Funding and Investment, Sudiro Roi Santoso, reaffirmed their openness to all forms of investment, including small and medium-sized enterprises such as convenience store development. As a gesture of long-term cooperation, a Meranti tree was planted at Plaza Bhineka, symbolizing environmental preservation and sustainable growth. The visit also included tours of key IKN sites, reinforcing Nusantara’s growing role as not only a new government center but also a regional economic and diplomatic hub.
