East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa inaugurated a Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Station owned by PT Citra Nusantara Energi in Gresik Regency on Monday (July 28th). This inauguration also marked the start of gas distribution from PT Petrogas Jatim Utama (Perseroda) to the industrial sector, as part of the transformation towards clean and sustainable energy. The event, which took place in the Gresik industrial area, began with the distribution of donations to orphans, followed by remarks by the President Commissioner of PT Citra Nusantara Gemilang Tbk, As'ad Said Ali. In his remarks, he stated that the construction of the CNG Station demonstrates the company's commitment to providing environmentally friendly energy solutions. "Compressed natural gas in the form of CNG is expected to become an alternative energy source and reduce dependence on fossil fuels, the availability of which continues to decline," he said.
The CNG Station was built through a collaboration between PT. Petrogas Jatim Utama (Perseroda) and PT Citra Nusantara Energi. The President Director of PT Citra Nusantara Energi, Iza Safardi, explained that CNG stands for Compressed Natural Gas and is a crucial part of the clean energy transition, particularly in East Java's industrial areas. "With a capacity of 2 MSCVS, equivalent to 20 million cubic meters per year, this facility serves 20 industrial consumers and 250 retail customers. This is not just infrastructure, but a symbol of strategic collaboration, innovation, and trust from the government and customers," he explained. The President Commissioner of PT Petrogas Jatim Utama Perseroda, Achmad Fauzi, added that his company continues to innovate to expand its gas services. "For 20 years, we have sold gas to PLN NP, but today marks a new step: we are also selling gas directly to industry. This is the beginning of Petrogas's revival," he said.
