On 28 July 2025, Canva and the Ministry of Creative Economy signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the aim of supporting digital transformation and strengthening Indonesia's creative talent as part of the Golden Indonesia (Indonesia Emas) 2045 vision. This collaboration is designed to encompass a broad cross-section of stakeholders from across the creative economy sector, including small and medium-sized enterprises. The partnership also includes workshops, monthly training sessions, and broader access to Canva Pro features with special pricing schemes for ministry staff, associations, users, and designers. Therefore, this initiative will enable Indonesian creative economy practitioners to monetise their work and establish it as a reliable source of income.
During 2024, the number of designs created using Canva reached approximately 1 billion. Various creative economy practitioners have attested to the tangible benefits that Canva has brought to different sectors. The collaboration between Canva and the Ministry of Creative Economy represents a strategic initiative aimed at supporting the government's efforts to position the creative economy as the "new engine of growth". Both parties are committed to working together to build a strong, inclusive digital creative ecosystem that can contribute significantly to national economic growth.
