The Indonesian Ministry of Agriculture has facilitated the export of agricultural products cultivated by millennial farmers from Central Java to Singapore and Malaysia. The shipments include 70 tons of honey sweet potatoes, 1.5 tons of coconut sugar, and 1 ton of organic vegetables, totaling IDR 1.335 billion in export value. Deputy Agriculture Minister Sudaryono emphasized that these exports reflect not only increased trade but also enhanced value-added potential and farmer welfare. He noted Central Java’s fertile land and diligent farming communities, stating that the government’s role is to provide market access, training, and infrastructure support.
To further this mission, the Ministry, through its Agricultural Human Resources Development Agency (BPPSDMP), continues to develop the Youth Entrepreneurship and Employment Support Services (YESS) program. Integrated with the Digital Agro Innovation Week (PADI), this initiative connects young farmers with technology, innovation, and markets. It aims to empower youth in agriculture and position them as globally competitive players, demonstrating that agricultural exports are not only for large conglomerates.
