On 21 July 2025, at a briefing on the strategic role of Indonesian diplomacy in supporting the Danantara Investment Management Agency in strengthening the Indonesian economy, held at the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Jakarta, the Indonesian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Arrmanatha C. Nasir stated that Danantara's existence is very much in line with the main tasks and functions of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as the leader of Indonesian economic diplomacy. Armanatha also conveyed a message from Foreign Minister Sugiono to Indonesian representatives and diplomats worldwide. The message was to fully support Danantara, and to be more proactive and ambitious in seeking cooperation opportunities, identifying potential, and realising strategic investments by Danantara in allied nations. Specifically, joint efforts to strengthen synergy between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Danantara include the establishment of regular coordination mechanisms to ensure alignment between investment priorities and diplomatic strategies.
Furthermore, Danantara has the potential to support Indonesia's diplomacy in the development cooperation sector through strategic development investments in developing countries, within the framework of applicable international norms and laws. Realising collaboration will involve regular coordination with the Directorate General of Economic Relations and Development Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Danantara's Chief Investment Officer (CIO), Pandu Patria Sjahrir, attended the event and emphasised the significance of partnerships with various international stakeholders in supporting Danantara's mission, including access to co-investors and capital. Indonesian ambassadors abroad serve as Danantara's key contacts for expanding partnerships and facilitating access to knowledge, technology, and expertise. The discussion session highlighted the potential for international partnerships, with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Indonesian representatives supporting Danantara.
