The development of the industrial and trade sectors is supported not only by budgets sourced from regional original revenue (PAD) but also by special funds (danais). Since 2013, the Yogyakarta Special Region (DIY) Industry and Trade Office has received financial support for its development tasks, particularly for a number of industries producing various unique Yogyakarta products. This high potential is reflected in the industrial sector's contribution to DIY's economic growth, which continues to increase annually. For example, in 2023, the industrial sector contributed 11.82%, or approximately IDR 13.44 trillion. A year later, this increased to 11.83%, or IDR 13.92 trillion, in 2024. Three main industries are the largest contributors: "Food and beverage, textiles and clothing, and the metal goods industry," Yuna added. Most industries in DIY are small and medium-sized. There are a total of 102,787 small and medium industries (SMEs). Currently, there are 245 SME centers throughout the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY). Recognizing the large number of industries producing typical Jogja products, Yuna and her staff have taken several steps. One of these is utilizing the allocated funds for product promotion activities, including holding thematic events.
Marketing enhancement is achieved through holding exhibitions, festivals, facilitating participation in exhibitions, and other promotional activities. This includes setting a record at the Indonesian Museum of Records (MURI) to coincide with National Batik Day on October 2, 2014. This involved 3,000 batik makers. Made from hand-woven fabric (not machine-made) and hand-drawn in one hour. Then there's Jogja Fashion Week. This is followed by a batik festival and facilitation of domestic exhibitions such as Kriya Nusa and Pekan Raya Jakarta (PRJ). Each year, an average of 40 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are facilitated to participate in PRJ and four small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) for Kriya Nusa. Furthermore, trade missions and exhibitions abroad are facilitated. Players in Jogja's unique industries are facilitated to participate in exhibitions and trade missions abroad, such as Hong Kong Fashion Week, the Moscow International Fashion Fair, the Dubai Expo, the Indonesia Festival in Frankfurt, and a trade mission to Saudi Arabia.
