On 18 July 2025, Singtel Chairman and Temasek Board Member Lee Theng Kiat met with Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto in Jakarta. The purpose of the meeting was to strengthen cooperation and explore portfolio expansion in various sectors. During the meeting, Airlangga acknowledged Temasek's significant contributions to the national economy, particularly through capital injection/funding schemes for startups and national strategic projects. The Indonesian government is ready to facilitate Temasek's increased investment in the country. Airlangga also highlighted the potential for cooperation in the renewable energy sector, noting that collaboration with Temasek will strengthen Indonesia's energy transition towards a low-carbon economy. A notable example of this collaboration is the development of green industrial zones by Sembcorp Urban, a Temasek subsidiary, which commenced in early 2025 in West Java, Tanjung Sauh, and Tembesi, Batam.
Chairman Lee welcomed the Indonesian government's proactive stance in creating a healthy and open investment climate. He emphasised that Indonesia remains one of Temasek's key partners in Southeast Asia. Moving forward, Temasek will continue to develop its existing investments in Indonesia and explore other collaboration opportunities. Since its establishment in 1974, Temasek Holdings has grown into one of the world's largest state-owned asset managers. Its portfolio is globally diversified, spanning sectors such as financial services, technology, telecommunications, media, transportation, energy, environment, and healthcare. Temasek's strategic investment portfolio is managed through respected subsidiaries such as ST Engineering, Singtel, and Sembcorp. National companies within its investment network include Telkomsel, Siloam International Hospitals, Matahari Putra Prima, DBS Bank, Olam International, and Sembcorp Industries. This visit is a continuation of Temasek's commitment to the Indonesian market.
