The Indonesia–European Union Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IEU-CEPA) is projected to boost Indonesia’s export performance by up to 50%. The agreement, which eliminates tariffs on a significant portion of trade between the two regions, is expected to open broader market access for Indonesian products in the EU. Officials highlight that sectors such as fisheries, coffee, textiles, and electronics will benefit from lower barriers and increased competitiveness.
In addition to economic benefits, IEU-CEPA promotes standards related to sustainability, labor rights, and environmental practices. These provisions will encourage Indonesian industries to enhance their compliance with international standards. Analysts believe this will not only strengthen Indonesia’s global trade reputation but also drive long-term investments. The agreement represents a strategic opportunity for Indonesia to deepen its trade ties with one of the world’s largest markets while improving the quality and value of its export products.
