South Korea Sees Potential in Bintan as a Viable Investment Location

Representatives from the South Korean Embassy visited Bintan to explore investment potential across various sectors. The Head of the Bintan Investment and One-Stop Integrated Service Agency (DPMPTSP), Indra Hidayat, welcomed the delegation and expressed his office's hope that the visit would mark the beginning of strategic cooperation between Bintan and South Korea, particularly in the economic sector through investment. Indra has identified a number of key sectors that are attractive for investment, including tourism, industry, fisheries, agriculture, Special Economic Zones (KEK) and Free Trade Zones (FTZs).

The representative of the South Korean Embassy, Suk Hwan Yang, explained that the purpose of the visit was to obtain information about investment potential directly from the local government, as the Bintan region is highly attractive. South Korea has expressed interest in pursuing opportunities in several key sectors, including information technology, electronics, the automotive industry, the steel industry, and infrastructure. This visit is expected to mark the beginning of broader and sustainable economic cooperation.
