PT Pelindo Terminal Petikemas recorded a significant surge in export-import container flows during the first semester of 2025. International container volume reached 2.1 million TEUs, up 13.64 % compared to the same period last year of 1.8 million TEUs. This growth consisted of 1.01 million TEUs of exports and 998 thousand TEUs of imports, reflecting the stretch of foreign trade that began to recover and increase in a balanced manner. This increase was also followed by a growth in domestic container flow of 4.86 %, from 4 million to 4.2 million TEUs. In total, container flows at all terminals managed by Pelindo reached 6.3 million TEUs, up 7.61 % from the previous period. Some terminals recorded very significant growth, such as TPK Semarang which grew 17.7 %, and IPC TPK with a surge of 43.26 %.
President Director of Pelindo Terminal Petikemas, Ade Hartati, called this achievement the result of improved operational services and efficiency at various ports, despite global challenges such as geopolitical tensions and changes in world logistics patterns. She also highlighted the success in managing empty container flow, which has been one of the challenges in the export-import supply chain. The growth in container flow is considered a positive signal for the national trade climate and Pelindo's strategic role in maintaining the smooth distribution of national and international logistics.
