The Ministry of Trade (MoT) has set two priorities for 2026: maintaining domestic market stability and expanding export access. Deputy Minister of Trade Dyah Roro Esti stated that strengthening the domestic market will be done through increasing inter-regional trade, optimizing trade and logistics infrastructure, and facilitating local product development-including the certification process and consumer empowerment. In addition, the Ministry of Trade will conduct trade supervision, provide ease of doing business, support the creation of new products, and enforce safeguard measures against imported products to protect domestic businesses.
On the other hand, the ministry will also focus on expanding export markets by increasing trade diplomacy and promoting Indonesian products abroad. This plan is in line with the ratification of a number of international trade agreements. In addition, the UMKM BISA (Dare to Innovate, Ready to Adapt) Export program will be strengthened to support design innovation and expand the role of aggregators in connecting UMKM players to the global market. To support this program, the Ministry of Trade proposes an additional budget of IDR 886.63 billion for three main focuses: domestic trade, foreign trade, and integrated trade data and management systems.
