Strengthening Cold Chain, Indonesia’s Fisheries Industry Boosts Quality of Frozen Export Products

Global demand for Indonesian frozen fishery products has surged in recent years, driven by practical lifestyles, export market needs, and greater food safety awareness. From October 2023 to September 2024, the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries recorded around 14,300 frozen fish export shipments—a 65% increase from the previous period. Markets such as the U.S., China, Malaysia, and others are expanding. In response, PT Sanjaya Internasional Fishery (SIF) partnered with MGM Bosco Logistics to build a modern cold storage facility in Cikarang, Bekasi, to strengthen cold chain logistics. With a temperature range of -25°C to +5°C, it is designed to maintain freshness for frozen seafood and processed products, meeting global quality standards.

Frozen seafood is now in high demand not only by restaurants and hotels but also households due to its practicality and shelf life. Export destinations like Japan, the U.S., and the EU require strict cold chain handling. Any disruption can reduce product quality and market value. MGM Bosco provides not just storage but full operational logistics, including hygiene, safety, and temperature control. The facility also includes integrated packing services to ensure efficient, consistent product handling. Strategically located, it is set to become a key hub for SIF's national and global distribution.
