The Bali Provincial Government has partnered with South Korea to develop an E-Mobility industrial zone, aligning with Bali's commitment to clean energy and battery-based electric vehicle adoption under Regulation No. 48 of 2019. The memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed on June 25, 2025, at the Wiswa Sabha Utama Building in Bali, marking a strategic step in introducing advanced Korean technology to support sustainable transportation on the island.
According to Bali’s Transportation Agency Head, I Gde Wayan Samsi Gunarta, the partnership focuses on developing specialized electric machines—such as shuttles for Besakih and Sanur, street sweepers, and waste-collection vehicles—within the Jembrana industrial zone. Yeonggwang County in South Korea, known for its electrical technology and smart mobility development, is leading the collaboration. Mayor Jang Se-il of Yeonggwang expressed optimism about Indonesia’s green energy direction and sees this partnership as a milestone for long-term prosperity between the two regions. The initiative is expected to foster deeper business-to-business collaboration and serve as a model for future smart mobility development in Indonesia.
