Batang Industropolis SEZ Secures IDR 1.1 Trillion in Investment by Mid-2025

The Batang Industropolis Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Central Java, Indonesia, has attracted IDR 1.1 trillion (approx. USD 67 million) in new investments by the end of the first hall of 2025. Two strategic investors—PT Simba Indosnack Makmur and PT Jingxing Weiss Indonesia—have committed to developing export-oriented manufacturing facilities in the area. Ngurah Wirawan, President Director of PT Kawasan Industri Terpadu Batang, described this milestone as the beginning of an acceleration phase for the SEZ. He emphasized that these new tenants reflect strong investor confidence and will help position Batang as a hub for high-value export industries.

PT Simba Indosnack Makmur, a subsidiary of Combiphar Group, will invest IDR 300 billion to build its first export-focused snack food factory on a 3.6 hectare site. This facility will primarily serve markets in Australia and Saudi Arabia and is expected to create around 250 local jobs. Meanwhile, PT Jingxing Weiss Indonesia—affiliated with Shanghai-based high-tech logistics company Jingxing—will contribute its expertise in automated storage systems, having delivered over 15,000 global logistics projects. These investments highlight the SEZ’s growing appeal to international players and its potential to boost regional economic development through industrial exports and local workforce engagement.
