The Central Java Provincial Government is collaborating with Singapore to explore investment opportunities in the green economy sector, particularly in the development of renewable energy - based industrial estates. Central Java Governor Ahmad Luthfi said that in the first quarter of 2025, Singapore’s investment in Central Java reached IDR 2.081 trillion in 2024. The meeting included discussions on the development of green industries such as solar panels, bio-oil, and bio-thermal, as well as the utilisation of the potential of new renewable energy - from natural gas, geothermal, to solar power - wich is considered to be the main driver of Central Java’s industrial transformation.
In order to strengthen cooperation, The Central Java Provincial Government is forming a special team to follow up on this opportunity, including a planned delegation visit to Singapore to promote investment potential in renewable energy, tourism MSMEs, and exports of local products such as coffee and shallots. Singapore’s Ambassador to Indonesia Kwok Fook Seng emphasised the close ties between Singapore and Central Java, particularly in industrial areas such as Kendal and Batang, and expressed investors’ interest in the green economy as more companies ask for access to renewable energy.
