The 2025 Sharia Economic Festival (FESyar) Sumatera held at Lampung City Mall on June 21-25th successfully recorded total business meeting and financing transactions of more than IDR 12.43 billion. This figure reflects the driving force of sharia economy and finance (eksyar) as a pillar of regional economic growth. The achievement consists of direct product sales during the event reaching IDR 1.7 billion; business meeting commitments of IDR 3.6 billion; and sharia financing facilitation through synergy with OJK and Asbisindo Lampung reaching IDR 7.13 billion. Senior Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia, Destry Damayanti, said that BI will continue to play a role as an Accelerator, Initiator, and Regulator in the development of national eksyar. In 2024, the halal value chain sector will grow by 4% (yoy) and support around 25% of national GDP. Meanwhile, Indonesia's sharia financial assets have reached IDR 9,927 trillion, equivalent to 45% of GDP. In 2025, eksyar is targeted to grow in the range of 4.8% – 5.6%, in line with the National Priority target to make Indonesia a global sharia economic center with a sharia GDP contribution of 56.11% in 2029.
Lampung Deputy Governor, Jihan Nurlela, emphasized the importance of synergy between local governments, regulators, and business actors in accelerating the strengthening of eksyar in Sumatra. FESyar Sumatera 2025 carries the theme "Synergy of Sharia Economy and Finance Strengthening Regional Economic Stability and Independence." Various excellent programs are held to strengthen the halal ecosystem and sharia economic literacy, including: Inauguration of 15 Safe and Healthy Halal Culinary Zones (KHAS) in the Sumatra region; Launching of Muslim-friendly tourist destinations in Pahawang and South Lampung; Waqf Awareness Movement, and: Training of 100 Eksyar Literacy Ambassadors. This festival also involves 210 MSMEs featuring 7 types of sharia competitions.
