Customs Reaffirms Commitment to Boost National Exports

The Directorate General of Customs and Excise reaffirmed its commitment to boosting national exports through various initiatives across regions. At the Tanjung Emas Customs Office, Head Tri Utomo Hendro Wibowo signed a cooperation agreement with the Central Java Quarantine Office to implement the SSm Export pilot program at Tanjung Emas Port and A. Yani Airport, Semarang. This integrated online system allows exporters to submit required export documents—such as PEB, quarantine inspection requests, certificates of origin, and foreign exchange reports—through a single platform, improving efficiency and accessibility for businesses, especially SMEs. Since its trial, over 1,800 documents have been processed across 23 Customs offices in 33 ports and airports. The initiative aims to cut processing time, eliminate data duplication, and strengthen inter-agency service integration.

Meanwhile, Customs offices in Pantoloan and Tanjung Balai Karimun carried out local engagements to enhance export performance. In Pantoloan, Head Krisna Wardhana reported on direct call export vessels to China and requested continued support from the Central Sulawesi government. Governor Anwar Hafid welcomed the collaboration and discussed plans to upgrade Sis Al-Jufri Airport to international status. In Karimun, a Coffee Morning Forum with local SMEs and officials was held, where Customs Head Jerry Kurniawan emphasized cross-sector synergy to empower MSMEs through trade, tourism, and cultural initiatives, aiming for inclusive and export-oriented growth.
