Deputy Governor of the Riau Islands, Nyanyang Haris Pratamura, voiced his support for boosting exports of Kepri’s top commodities, especially processed coconut products. Speaking at the export release of 19.2 tons of coconut meat to Malaysia from PT Heng Guan Batam Industries on June 28, 2025, he emphasized the province’s strategic advantage despite its limited natural resources. The shipment, worth IDR 512.4 million, was certified and released by the Indonesian Quarantine Agency through the Kepri Quarantine Office. This move strengthens Kepri’s role in international trade.
Nyanyang highlighted that although Kepri has only 4% land area, its close proximity to markets like Singapore and Malaysia makes it highly strategic. He called for strong cross-sectoral support—from quarantine agencies to customs and port authorities—to improve logistics and export access. He stressed the importance of complying with export regulations, including the requirement to deposit export proceeds (DHE) into the national financial system under PP No. 36/2023. The provincial government continues to push for innovations to boost exports, with Kepri already exporting to Singapore, Malaysia, and Vietnam. Nyanyang hopes coconut exports will also drive growth in underdeveloped plantation areas, contributing to local economic resilience. The event was attended by officials and business representatives, reaffirming Kepri’s ambition to become a national export hub.
