On 19 June 2025, PT Trina Mas Agra Indonesia (PT TMAI), Indonesia's first integrated solar module and cell manufacturing factory, was inaugurated in the Kendal Special Economic Zone (KEK). The factory was established through a collaboration between Trina Solar Co., Ltd., PT Dian Swastatika Sentosa Tbk, and PT PLN Indonesia Power Renewables. The factory will mass-produce solar modules and cells to support the renewable energy ecosystem, both in Indonesia and Southeast Asia. The KEK Kendal location enables PT TMAI to leverage various fiscal incentives and logistical advantages, including customs facilitation from the Customs Office.
The Semarang Customs Office is committed to providing assistance, ensuring customs compliance, and supporting the acceleration of investment in the KEK Kendal. The establishment of PT TMAI manufacturing factory is part of a broader strategy to promote national green economic growth, strengthen the renewable energy ecosystem, and create new job opportunities for local workers. The factory is also seen as a long-term strategy to reduce Indonesia's dependence on imported solar energy components.
