The Bandar Lampung City Government (Pemkot), Lampung Province, has allocated a budget of IDR 5 billion to repair the pier in the Lempasing area, Teluk Betung Timur District. "The pier at this fish auction place is no longer suitable, and even disrupts fishermen's activities, so it will be repaired immediately," said Bandar Lampung Mayor Eva Dwiana, in Bandar Lampung, Monday (6/23). She said that a number of infrastructure in this coastal area must be repaired to support the activities and economy of the community who are fishermen. "Yes, later this location can also be used as a culinary tourism destination for seafood," she said.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Bandar Lampung City Public Works (PU) Agency, Dedi Sutiyoso, said that the government would immediately repair the pier at the Lempasing Fish Auction Place (TPI) with a budget of IDR 5 billion. "In addition to the pier, the budget is also used to repair a 150-meter road with concrete, as well as the sub-district office," he said. According to him, the infrastructure repair in Lempasing is an effort by the city government to revive the atmosphere at the fish auction site. "With this repair, it is hoped that the public can be comfortable when shopping for fish and can immediately taste the food and atmosphere of PPI Lempasing," he said.
