The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) is encouraging the strengthening of collaboration between entrepreneurs in the agricultural machinery industry (alsintan) and research institutions in order to create efficient agricultural equipment. Director General of Metal, Machinery, Transportation Equipment and Electronics (ILMATE) Industry Setia Darta in Jakarta, Monday said that his party is determined to continue to increase the strategic role of the national agricultural machinery industry to support increased productivity and efficiency of the agricultural sector in Indonesia. Therefore, strengthening the agricultural machinery industry is an important step in encouraging the transformation of the agricultural sector towards more advanced and sustainable mechanization.
Furthermore, Setia revealed that his party has prepared a long-term strategy to make the agricultural machinery industry more productive, innovative, competitive, and sustainable. This strategy includes integrating the Making Indonesia 4.0 policy to encourage the transformation of the manufacturing industry towards energy- and cost-efficient digital technology. "We also continue to spur investment, both from within and outside the country, especially in the medium-high technology sector, to accelerate the adoption and transfer of technology. This is facilitated through the provision of fiscal incentives such as tax holidays, mini tax holidays, and tax allowances," he said. As an effort to improve the quality of technology in the agricultural machinery industry and strengthen collaboration between entrepreneurs and researchers, the Director of the Agricultural Machinery and Equipment Industry, Solehan, said that his party had formed a facility called the Indonesia Manufacturing Center. Not only that, incentives such as super tax deductions are also given to industries that actively carry out research and development activities to encourage sustainable product innovation.
