The New Trade Regulation Governs Indonesian Trade Promotion Abroad, Mandatory Use of Official Indonesian Image

The Minister of Trade Regulation (Peraturan Menteri Perdagangan/Permendag) No. 14 of 2025 has been enacted, governing the procedures for trade promotion and strengthening Indonesia's global market presence. This regulation serves as the official guideline for ministries, agencies, and local governments in conducting overseas promotional activities. The regulation was issued on 8 May 2025 and took effect on 14 May 2025. It signifies the government's tangible commitment to enhancing the competitiveness and visibility of Indonesian products in global markets, while reinforcing national identity through consistent symbols and visuals. Under this regulation, there are two types of promotions, namely exhibitions and trade missions. Exhibition booth designs must incorporate the Citra Indonesia logo as the official identity.

This regulation also includes provisions regarding the selection of products and businesses that are eligible to participate. All visual elements used must comply with the Citra Indonesia standards as per Presidential Regulation No. 32 of 2019. As outlined in the official guidelines, the following elements are mandatory, including the Puspa Bangsa pattern in red and white is a fascia board themed 'Alun Nusantara'. The government also ensures ease and facilities for businesses participating in trade promotions, through the provision of free exhibition booths, trade mission meeting rooms, market information and potential buyers, and translation support.
