The Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Office of Karawang Regency, West Java, recorded that investment realization in Karawang during the first quarter of 2025 reached IDR 15.3 trillion. Head of the office, Wawan Setiawan, stated that Karawang has consistently achieved high investment figures, with total investment in 2024 (January–December) reaching IDR 68.5 trillion. Based on data from the West Java provincial government, Karawang’s investment realization from January to March 2025 amounted to IDR 15.3 trillion, positioning Karawang as the second-highest investment destination in West Java after Bekasi Regency, which recorded IDR 21.3 trillion. Following Karawang were Bogor Regency with IDR 7.1 trillion, Purwakarta with IDR 4 trillion, and Bekasi City with IDR 3.4 trillion.
Wawan added that investments in Karawang come from both foreign and domestic investors, most of which are capital-intensive in nature. However, the Q1 2025 figure is slightly lower compared to Q1 2024, which stood at IDR 16.3 trillion. Despite this slight dip, the current investment numbers are still preliminary, and the total for this year is expected to increase as more reports are finalized. Karawang remains a key industrial and investment hub with promising prospects for continued growth.
