Healthy Living Trend Creates Export Opportunity for Indonesian Food and Beverage Companies, Generating Potential Transactions Worth IDR 71.3 Billion in Italy

From May 5-8, 2025, Fiera Milano Società per Azioni hosted the Tuttofood 2025 exhibition at Rho Fiera Milano in Milan, Italy. The event drew over 2,500 participants from various countries and attracted 80,000 visitors. At Tuttofood 2025, the Indonesian Pavilion featured premium food and beverage products from nine businesses, including Terve Chocolate Indonesia, InterAromat BV, and seven micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (UMKM) supported by Bank Indonesia. The products on display included specialty coffee, artisanal chocolate, tempe chips, herbal drinks, sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, and pasta sauce. During the event, Indonesian food and beverage products recorded a potential transaction value of USD 4.38 million, equivalent to IDR 71.3 billion. A total of 68 businesses were identified as potential partners, primarily from Italy, the Netherlands, South Korea, and China. Further collaboration will be explored, including distribution arrangements, product sampling, and potential future trade contracts.

Indonesia's participation is a testament to the Ministry of Trade's dedication to fostering the growth of markets and enhancing the international competitiveness of UMKM in the food and beverage sector. This commitment is driven by a strategic vision to expand the country's export horizons and promote the growth of its UMKM in the global market. The Indonesian Trade Promotion Center (ITPC) Head in Milan, Seno Pratomo stated that the Indonesian food and beverage products offered at Tuttofood 2025 address Italian consumers' demand for healthy snacks and natural beverages. Current trends in Italy and Europe indicate a shift in consumer preferences toward a healthier lifestyle. The attributes of Indonesian products, including their high quality, convenience, and nutritional integrity, align closely with the lifestyle preferences of Italian consumers. Furthermore, at Tuttofood 2025, ITPC Milan facilitated business matchings for Indonesian coffee products, providing a forum for dialogue between Indonesian exporters, including micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), and potential partners in Italy.
