The Central Java Provincial Government has officially established a strategic economic partnership with the provinces of Riau, Lampung, and North Maluku, with a total value reaching IDR 2.1 trillion over four years. The collaboration, formalized through a joint agreement signed by the respective governors in Batam on June 14, 2025, covers key sectors such as investment, MSMEs, food security, and region-owned enterprises (BUMD), with an estimated annual value of IDR 600 billion.
Governor Ahmad Luthfi of Central Java emphasized that the cooperation aligns with each region’s strengths and development priorities. Beyond the initial sectors, further collaboration is planned in tourism, industry and trade, as well as agriculture and plantations. This inter-regional initiative is expected to enhance connectivity and stimulate local economic growth while providing a stable environment for future investments. Governor Ansar Ahmad of Riau added that the agreement builds on the unique potential of each province, with joint planning already underway through their respective local agencies. Positioned as a model for broader national collaboration, this partnership is also seen as a practical step in supporting Indonesia’s national development agenda.
