Customs strengthens its role in encouraging Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to penetrate the global market. Through assistance programs and export facilities, Customs actively assists MSMEs in various regions, including in Cikarang and Banten. Head of the Sub-Directorate of Public Relations and Counseling of Customs, Budi Prasetiyo said that his party will continue to support MSMEs to move up a class. "We are present as strategic partners for business actors. We encourage Indonesian MSMEs to dare to penetrate the global market by providing concrete assistance, starting from export regulations to technical assistance," said Budi. In Cikarang, MSME BESEKKU showed significant development after receiving various supports, including assistance from Customs. This MSME, which is engaged in the production of environmentally friendly packaging, was founded in 2016 with an initial capital of under IDR 5 million.
Now BESEKKU is able to produce up to 100 units per day based on orders, and has employed 3 to 5 permanent employees. Legally, BESEKKU also has a Business Identification Number (NIB), although administrative records are still done manually. Meanwhile, the Banten Customs Office is intensifying the Export Clinic program as part of a long-term strategy to support MSMEs going international. One of the MSMEs that has felt the positive impact of this program is Cartenz Cocoa. Under the auspices of PT Persatuone Komoditas Indonesia, the company has succeeded in exporting cocoa powder products to India, Turkey, and Egypt. The assistance provided includes assistance in fulfilling export documents, understanding technical export provisions, and education on customs and tax regulations. The Export Clinic program is part of the Customs Office's commitment to encourage the competitiveness of Indonesian MSMEs in the global market.
