Deputy Regent of Bone Bolango, Risman Tolinggohu, stated that the development of a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) could serve as a pillar of economic growth and investment in the region. Speaking during a coordination meeting on the SEZ development plan held at the Regional Development Planning Agency (Bappeda Litbang) meeting room on Tuesday, Risman emphasized that the SEZ is not merely a project, but a major mission to transform the region into an investment magnet and a globally competitive economic hub. He stressed that the SEZ is a strategic initiative aimed at accelerating local economic growth, creating jobs, and improving community welfare.
Risman also conveyed the Bone Bolango Regency Government’s strong hopes for the SEZ development, including increased investment, job creation, enhanced exports and foreign exchange, regional economic diversification, improved local revenue, technology and knowledge transfer, and the development of supporting infrastructure. He instructed the immediate formation of a planning team to ensure that the SEZ development is carefully and effectively implemented. “Therefore, I instruct that a planning team be established immediately to act as the driving force in preparing a comprehensive and actionable development plan,” he said. Risman expressed confidence that with strong commitment and joint efforts, the SEZ would become a key driver of progress and prosperity for both the community and the region.
