Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto and Singapore’s Deputy Prime Minister Gan Kim Yong convened at the 15th Indonesia–Singapore Six Bilateral Economic Working Groups (6WG) Ministerial Meeting to deepen bilateral and regional economic collaboration. Discussions covered strategic sectors such as clean energy financing, data center development, and digital logistics integration, aimed at enhancing trade efficiency. Both leaders emphasized aligning ASEAN’s trade standards, financial systems, and regional connectivity to strengthen ASEAN's role in global economics and realize the ASEAN Economic Vision 2045.
Key topics within the 6WG included agriculture, energy, and investment. Indonesia and Singapore aim to combine Singapore’s tech expertise with Indonesia’s production capacity to bolster food security through joint agricultural innovation and youth farmer programs. Singapore remains a critical investment partner, especially in Indonesia’s industrial zones and infrastructure, with Indonesia targeting USD 30–40 billion in investment. Minister Gan also voiced support for Indonesia’s accession to international agreements like the CPTPP and OECD, viewing them as important platforms for expanding Indonesia’s role in the global economy.
