Berau Youthphoria 2025, held from June 12–15 in Tanjung Redeb, wrapped up with energy and celebration. The event brought together 45 curated creative economy players and diverse community groups, offering an inclusive platform that blended entertainment, culinary experiences, and cultural showcases. CEO of Berau Terkini and event organizer Rengkuh Enggalingtyaz stated the main goal was to elevate local creatives to a new standard—ensuring that both youth and adults could enjoy the experience. Unique performances, curated vendors, and the active participation of youth and hobbyist communities—from skateboarders to artists—made the event a standout in Berau.
Notably, the event succeeded without any government funding, thanks to strong collaboration among communities, businesses, sponsors, and volunteers. It included signature programs like the Bhayangkara Berau Fun Run 2025 in partnership with the local police. The event’s success has inspired plans to register it as an intellectual property (HAKI), preserving it as a collaborative legacy of Berau’s youth. Local Creative Economy Board Chair Abdul Majid praised the event’s structure and thoughtful concept, noting its alignment with youth interests and its timing during school holidays. He hopes for government budget support next year, backed by accurate visitor data. Both Majid and Police Chief AKBP Khairul Basyar expressed pride in the initiative, recognizing the powerful synergy between creative communities, institutions, and local youth. The event sets a strong precedent for more vibrant, youth-driven cultural movements in the region.
