Indonesia and Poland have reaffirmed their commitment to deepening economic collaboration over the next 5 to 10 years, marking the 70th anniversary of their diplomatic relations. Recognized as leading economies in their respective regions—Indonesia in ASEAN and Poland in Central and Eastern Europe—both nations aim to enhance ties beyond cultural and educational exchanges, focusing now on trade and investment. Vice President of the Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH), Ćukasz Gwiazdowski, shared this vision following a meeting with Indonesian entrepreneurs in Poland, expressing optimism about the potential for mutually beneficial partnerships.
Several key sectors have been identified for future cooperation, including green economy initiatives, sustainable transportation, railway technology, waste management, energy transition, and even the food industry. Gwiazdowski emphasized the significant opportunities these areas present and voiced hope that the upcoming EU-Indonesia free trade agreement will further boost bilateral trade and investment. Despite both nations’ growing global economic standings—Poland ranked 21st and Indonesia projected to rise to the top five—current trade volume remains modest. With strong cooperation and supportive policies, both countries are confident in unlocking greater economic potential and achieving impactful progress in the years ahead.
