Batik by female prisoners in Semarang Class IIA Penitentiary has successfully penetrated the Korean market. There are five batik motifs that are in demand by Korean citizens. Dozens of inmates are still finishing making special batik that will be promoted to the South Korean Embassy at a foreign strategy study event. They made batik patterns and focused on canting five batik with more innovative patterns and distinctive motifs, such as parang and kawung. Later, the batik by these inmates will be taken to South Korea as part of the promotion stage before being sold freely. The inmates of Semarang Women's Prison also produce various crafts such as clothes, bags, eco printing, and so on.
